Let the Games Begin!

Today was day one of real potty training and things actually went ok... Parker, as you all know, can be very stubborn. There isn't much this boy can't do but man, he refuses to not wear diapers! That is until today! I don't know what came over him because first thing this morning, he was crying and whining about peeing on the potty. I insisted many times today and he would kick and scream ! I forced him to sit and each time - 3 times - he peed! He is so good he can stop and re-start, which he gets a kick out of. But..in the end, he wanted nothing to do with underwear. THEN...after dinner I made him sit on the potty one last time - he went, but this time...HE INSISTED on putting big boy undies on! It all changed when I asked Sophie if she wanted to try them on...well, he wasn't about to let that happen! He (and Sophie, who chose a different pair) wore undies - actually paraded around - for at least an hour! I didn't get any pictures in the undies with the real camera but I did take some pictures after our "Pee Pee on the Potty" Parade - complete with American flags! GO PARKER! GO SOSO!

He's so proud!
And so is Soso!
She had to give it a try too...I am hoping to get them both peeing on the potty this summer!
I took some pictures with my cell phone of them in the undies. This is the best one - it features Sophie in Elmo "tighty whites" and Parker in boxers! Cute!

Scrounged From Grammy!

I haven't gotten an email from Lauryn with pictures of our visit, but I did get some from Grammy, taken from her cell phone.

Isn't this a great mask?!?
But is it Parker or is it Amy?
Here's Parker driving Kyedn's pick-up truck. I guess Grammy didn't take one of Sophie jumping in and running through the mud puddle - she was so dirty we had to give her a bath! Lovely rain!

UG!

I LOVE being free from planning, correcting, and just plain 'ole dealing with students! School ended on Wednesday and I wouldn't be me if I just sat around so...since Todd was working and wheelin' all weekend, I took the kids on a little road trip. With Grammy in tow, we headed to my old stopping grounds - Farmington, Maine! It was Parker's "special day" because he got to play with Kyedn! We stayed overnight in a hotel which the kids were so excited about! We went swimming, out for ice cream, talked to a truck driver who was fixing his truck, played at Kyedn's, saw a waterfall, ate breakfast in the hotel, did a LOT of driving and I FORGOT THE CAMERA! Ug! I was so disappointed, but Lauryn took some pictures and she is supposed to email them to me. When she does, I will share! Bummer! Here's to summer! Now, if it would just stop raining!

Sophie Reading

I'm very behind with my posts, I know! I haven't taken many pictures lately, but now that SCHOOL IS OUT I will be taking more! Here are some shots of Sophie reading one night, before bed. She looks so grown up to me!
I love how her little feet are holding the book up. She's very serious about her reading!
Grammy, the kids and I are heading to Farmington this weekend to visit Lauryn, Jason and Parker's "Best Buddy Pal", Kyedn!! I'll post some pictures when we return!

Sleep Over!

Parker and Maddie have been begging me to have a sleep over so on Saturday night we did! We had spaghetti for dinner and then a bon-fire and made s'mores!

Dinner got a little crazy thanks to Auntie's bad table manners.

While Nicole and I were cleaning up from dinner, the kids were playing in the living room. They were getting rather anxious for the fire so we had to give them "assignments" to do before they could go out. Nicole made them exersize...

Parker was so excited about the bon-fire. He kept saying, "I can't wait to see this!"

Auntie makes a heck of a fire! and YUMMY S'mores!
Then it was "Scary Story" time!

Bed time was easier than I thought. We all piled on Parker's bed for stories. Parker and Sophie were so tired they were asleep in five minutes!
We had a super good time! Parker, Sophie and I didn't get out of bed until 10 the next morning! Thankfully the kids slept in because Nicole and I were busy looking through old pictures until 1 am! Here's a sampling of what we found...
You can enlarge the pictures by clicking on them...tho I am not sure why you'd want to! HA!

See , Mom really did love Cannon!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Photo Op!

I love when the kids sit and play together!
Parker got a blister on his toe that popped so we put a band aid on it - Pirate bandaid from Auntie S and Uncle A.
Sophie, of course, had to have one too...she was so dramatic until I gave her one!

The Heat is on!

As you all know it's been HOT! The other day I broke out the sprinkler, figuring the kids would love it. Well, Parker was afraid of it, and Sophie wanted nothing to do with it. Maddie, on the other hand - did love it!Parker decided to give it a try, but only if his hat was completely covering his face!
He inched closer and closer once he saw how much fun Maddie was having...
And eventually he couldn't get enough! He loved it!
Here he is trying to convince Soso to join him!
She wasn't having it. She, instead, played in the mud!

I for one, am not happy with the havoc humidity wreaks on my hair!
And check out what happened with my eyes in this photo! HEHE!
AH!

Mackenzie wants that pacifier. Pay attention Sophie!

Parker got new leggos from Mem. He was tired after a long day of partying so he sat here and played for quite a while before bedtime!

Parker modeled his Harley jacket for everyone. He then ran around the house pretending to be driving a Harley. He made everyone follow him at some point. Here's Grampy Billy being a good sport!

THE TARRS ARE IN THE HOUSE!!

The kids had a great time despite the rain! Here David is giving Parker a picture he colored for him! How Sweet!

Sarah poses with Sophie! Sarah is a great babysitter! She got Parker to eat much more of his PB&J than I ever can! I told her she should come over every day at lunch!

Is Thomas sleeping? or playing dead? Whatever he's doing, Maddie and Parker are quite entertained!

I think they are up to no good!

Is that Teresa with a coffee?? couldn't be! YA RIGHT! We love our coffee don't we! I can't be too sure what David is doing, but I'm guessing he's singing the "Monkeys"!

There's Nicole tucked away in the background with her foot up - poor thing!

Sophie can do tricks too!

Parker had his own lunch but insisted on eating my noodles...love the slurping!

Now, he's shoveling it in!

Sohpie is finally eating "real" food. She loves bananas and peaches! I know she looks a little stunned in this picture, but she really does like it! She tried to feed her self, but, as you can see in the next picture, she didn't have much luck!

Um, it's upside down!

Um, it's upside down!

Haha, I'm so funny!

Haha, I'm so funny!

How precious!

Sohpie was refusing to finish the peaches until Parker came along. He was so cute feeding her and she polished off the jar for him!

She's even eating from an empty spoon!

This is a picture of Sophie on the fourth of July! You can't really see the precious dress with the stars on the front but check out those eyes! And those big rosey cheeks! She's wearing her hair in a ponytail for the first time too!

More cuddling - in the condo in the lovely basement that Grampy finished! We do miss that playroom but not the couch - sorry Grammy!

Waiting for the train

Waiting for the train
Nicole and I surprised the kids with tickets to the Laurie Berkner Band. At this point, watching for the train, they had no idea where we were going. This was our present to Parker for his birthday! He enjoyed the first few songs of the concert, but wanted to get right back on the train! He had so much fun staring out the window! His eyes went kind of crazy trying to watch the trees go by - it was really funny!

Here's a picture on the train, minutes before Parker realized he could get up and walk around! Oh boy!

Do you think Parker will be swimming before the end of the summer?
