Do pacifiers reproduce?
Todd and I are convinced that either the kids stash pacifiers around the house and then take them all out at once or that pacifiers have the amazing ability to reproduce through asexual reproduction (see, I've embraced teaching science, too!). Let me explain - we can go weeks with only one pacifier, constantly searching for more, but never able to find them. Then suddenly (like today) there will four or five sitting on the table.... What's up with that? Anyone else experiencing the mysteriously reproducing pacifier phenomenon??

UA and AS
Uncle Adam and Auntie Stefanie came to visit on Sunday. It was a great day! The weather was perfect and the kids were in a good mood!
Parker showed off his Halloween Costume - scary dragon!!!
We got to use our new table for the first time! We discovered we need a BIGGER table cloth - it's so big!

Sunglasses
The other day when Parker went to Auntie's, I told him that if he didn't have any time-outs I would buy him a prize. I guess he was reminding himself all day to be a good boy. It worked! He didn't have one time-out all day! So...we headed to Walmart. A few days before, he had forgotten his sunglasses in a cart at Walmart and was crushed! He loved those sunglasses! Anyway...he decided that's what he wanted for a prize. He chose the pink ones, but I bought two pair. The pink and a black pair! For some reason he likes to wear them upside down!

Ahhhh, Sundays
Sundays are great! (Besides the fact that Monday comes next) Today was such a beautiful day and we took full advantage! We all slept in (well, Todd went to work) then at 1 headed over to "Jacob's Barn" for a hayride. Grammy came along, too.
After that I took Parker to the open house at the fire department with Auntie and Maddie. Sophie had fallen asleep so she went home with Grammy.
After the fire department, Parker had dinner with Grammy and Grampy and I went home with Sophie. It was a long, action packed day and believe it or not - BOTH my kids were IN BED before 8:30! This is a first for us!

OK, it was sunny AND windy, give me a break! And what are my kids looking at??
Parker was very impressed by the giant witch, but it took some coaxing to get him to go near it! Here he is shaking her hand and saying, "Nice to meet you."
I love this picture of Sophie! She looks so big.
Speaking of big....doesn't she look bigger than Parker here? I love this one too.
We had to park at GMS and catch a bus to the fire station. Parker was SO excited that he got to ride a school bus!
Parker also had his hand painted with a ghost.
Parker was also fascinated by "Smokey" but wouldn't go near him without his protector, Maddie! I love this picture of them!

5 Years
Tonight was the annual award ceremony for the fire department. Todd received his "five year pin" so we decided to go.
Before we left, I snapped these pictures of Parker checking out Daddy's uniform. So sweet.
Sophie was trying so hard to get in on the action! That's my Aunt Judy holding Sophie. She babysat for us! The kids had a great time with her! (Sorry Mom, they did!)
And...Sophie gets her turn!
It's hard to see because it was dark in there, but here's a picture of some of the guys who received their 5 year pin - there were 8!

Arts and Crafts Save a Rainly Day!
It's been so rainy! I decided that Maddie and Parker needed something to do besides irritate each other! I found some craft ideas for Halloween and gave it a try. Turns out, it was a great idea! They had so much fun!
This first project isn't quiet done...but they enjoyed stepping in white paint! Maddie said it felt funny between her toes!
You may not see the beauty in this next picture...but... I added it because Parker and Maddie worked on it together without a single argument! Sometimes it's like Parker and Maddie are brother and sister and enjoy some sibling rivalry so when they have nice moments, like this picture, it's worth documenting!
And the finished products!
And last, but not least, our new dining room table came yesterday! It was my birthday present from Todd! I love it!

Back-logged!
I am so behind in my posts - sorry! The following pictures have been taken since by birthday but are in no particular order! Enjoy
Parker was so excited that it was raining because he got to wear his fire truck raincoat, and his "puddle jumpers" which is what he called his rain boots - I am not sure if he heard that somewhere or made it up, but I thought it was really cute!
We spent a lot of time with the Guerrettes and Davis' this weekend for some play dates.
Sophia found a jeep at Auntie Jessie's and I thought Todd would be happy to know that she sat and played with it for a long time!
Abby is a super good dancer! I caught her in mid pelvic- thrust and hands in the air! Go Abby!

Here's Maddie and Parker throwing rocks and sticks into Darrah. This is something Parker learned from Uncle Adam when they were camping at Layfayette! Aren't the leaf colors so nice !
I need to fix the lighting in this next picture, but I just love it!
Auntie Jessie invited us over to make "Glitter Pumpkins". She is so Martha Stewart! We made a huge glitter mess in her playroom! It was fun!
My kids love Petra! How sweet is this picture!

Seconds before I snapped this picture, Abby was trying to put her head through the rungs of the stairs...imagine if we had to call the fire department to remove her! Oye!
Parker is so cool with his shades, which he insists on wearing all the time now!

Toby and Petra come by for DYNAMITE!
Sophie has finally mastered crawling and of course now she wants to walk! She pulls herself up on EVERYTHING! And you will see that she pulls herself up on this table just to chomp on it!

Parker had his own lunch but insisted on eating my noodles...love the slurping!

Sohpie is finally eating "real" food. She loves bananas and peaches! I know she looks a little stunned in this picture, but she really does like it! She tried to feed her self, but, as you can see in the next picture, she didn't have much luck!

If Parker wakes up kinda cranky (yes, it does happen!) Sophie can cheer him up without a problem! But he still needs his belly!?! She gets so excited to lay with him, too!They LOVE to cuddle together - it's really very sweet!

Waiting for the train
Nicole and I surprised the kids with tickets to the Laurie Berkner Band. At this point, watching for the train, they had no idea where we were going. This was our present to Parker for his birthday! He enjoyed the first few songs of the concert, but wanted to get right back on the train! He had so much fun staring out the window! His eyes went kind of crazy trying to watch the trees go by - it was really funny!
